CROWD COOKS' KITCHEN

What's in our boxes?

Boxes are composed of a minimum of 2 meals packed in individual trays. You will find informative cards that include the list of ingredients as well as the explanation for reheating the dishes. Our meals are at least 500 grams.

Are you using local and seasonal ingredients?

Crowd Cooks sets very high standards when it comes to ingredients which is why we take great care in sourcing our ingredients responsibly. Our recipes are seasonal so we use local ingredients as often as possible – which is good for you as the ingredients are fresh and good for the planet with a reduction of kilometers travelled by the food.

Who cooks your dishes?

Our seasonal recipes are developed by us focusing on taste and nutritional value and they are cooked by our professional kitchen chefs and partners. All our kitchen partners are AFSCA certified and meals are prepared by professional cooks. We are aiming to surprise you with amazingly tasty, healthy food that makes you feel that you had a home cooked meal without having to cook it.

The little extra from Crowd Cooks? A 100% Brussels implementation! From from recipe development through production and on to delivery of the boxes, the whole is managed either by ourselves or by collaborators,100% Brussels.

How do you ensure food safety?

All our fresh dishes are prepared in professional kitchens. All our kitchen partners are AFSCA certified and work according to GMP to maintain the highest hygiene standards for the preparation of food. They also have a HACCP system in place to control food safety. Both during storage and delivery of our meals we ensure the cold chain is respected. In addition to frequent internal controls we also test our meals regularly at the brufotec laboratorium.

Also, it is important to note that during the COVID-19 health crisis, all members of our teams respect the hygiene rules imposed. Wearing masks during the production of the dishes, packaging and during the home deliveries (and contactless delivery).

Bulk, vacuum plastic and waste management ?

We realize that you don’t like the use of plastic, neither do we! However, we don’t want to put any preservatives in your food either and the tray allow us to give you amazing fresh food without any additives. Your health and well-being is our priority!

Please know that we minimize the use of plastic wherever we can. We order most of our ingredients with local producers to be delivered in bulk – no plastic involved apart from the plastic you see!

How long can I keep my dishes ?

We pride ourselves on a minimum refrigerated shelf life of five days, so Friday evening of the week following delivery is the best by date. This gives you the flexibility to consume the dishes when you want to that working week. We cannot ensure the food is fit for consumption after these five days.

What are the best ways to reheat dishes ?

Our trays are to be reheated in the microwave while keeping the protective film (it allows you not to cook the preparation further) for 5 minutes and also in the traditional oven for 20 minutes at 160°C.

Can I freeze my food for later use ?

Yes, you can freeze your dishes (before they expire) for later consumption (we recommend max 3 months at -18°C).
